Poem Series #2 - Mirror

 MIRROR

I couldn't define this poem by a single word. Its a mixture of Free-verse, somewhere Rhyming and also I have used some Archaic texts, which I'm fond of, at some places.

This was written as the first poem in my "so-called" 'Poem notebook' that I tried to maintain, which got lost somewhere in my college and lasted only for a short span.

Also, this poem have been printed in my College Annual Literature Magazine after a row of cross-checks and released as a book and bought only after paying some hefty cost (even for the authors :[ )

Mirror, was penned down from my heart, when I felt off with my life, ditched and wanted to comeback, as I learnt that am the only person who can lift myself up, where others can just lend their hand or push you down more.

And I always like to compare lots of things or attributes specifically with that of nature, and I hope I have reflected it here somehow.

Whenever I read this poem, it reminds me, there's nothing we have done yet and there's more to discover with oneself and reflect it with our plans and actions to make our world into a better place and live with a purpose.

Here it goes:

See the sun.

See the rivers.

See the mountains.

Now, see thy Mirror.

Look at you! Oh, Girl.

Bet you won’t accept, that’s the real you.

A wildflower that lived among the thorns and bushes in the woods now became a fiction.

True colours that turned pale,

Turning own life into despair.

Knowing it well, to all the damage you left unrest that only you can repair.

Keep aside thy scars, anguish, and betrayal; it may heal, when you -

Reveal thyself and show how fearless you can be!

Heads up, you Girl!

Let the betrayer succumb by thy boldness and bravery;

That would serve you a delightful savoury.

There lived a ghost was a past; now unleash thy inner self with great valour to the world will become the present.

Let’s, shine as bright as the Sun;

Flow consistently like the Rivers;

Reach the sky like the Mountains.

And make History.

Signing off,

Katy :)

Happy Reading!
